This is not only, the first and only friday the 13th movie with 3D but it is also the only one to have that same aspect ratio that most movies have today excluding Freddy Vs Jason and the remake.

This means the picture is definitely more clear but this was probably only done for the 3D effects as this aspect ratio never returns for the other movies. Well, we did it. After almost 3 hours of two Friday the 13th movies, this is the one where Jason actually gets his hockey mask. The characters are a bit more weird but at least tolerable still.

The music is still good. The kills have of course been improved except for that head crush kill which looks pretty bad. The movie's entertainment value is a bit more than part 2 but not completely different. The mystery aspect is thankfully barely in this one, its mostly only there when we are in the POV of another character just for a cheap fake out, nothing confusing or offensive this time.

The 3D effects aren't as annoying as a lot of people make them out to be, sure they can be really noticeable but sometimes I don't even know if something was supposed to be 3D or not. The movie also moves as fast as part 2 did even if it is about as long as the first movie. Jason also kills two groups of people this time, a gang and the camp counselors to increase the body count. Overall, not too much can be said here as it is basically part 2 with some minor but good improvements.

I was actually close to giving this movie an 8 but since it's about as entertaining as part 2 and is similar to part 2 except some great changes, I would have given this movie a 7.

Jason is also not as weak as he was in part 2 but seems way more tough, he also makes noises when he gets hurt which is super weird. The movie also like part 1 shows the final part of part 2 before the movie starts to tie them in.

Sadly the ending is of course just another dream despite it being cool.
